About Batch Image Converter
Convert a collection of compatible images with one output format and shared quality settings. This page is for the practical work around a batch: selecting representative files, checking progress, handling failures and collecting downloads.
The same converter, a collection-focused task
Image Converter and this page use the same conversion engine. Neither offers a hidden batch-only codec or better quality than the other. Use the general page to choose between formats; use these instructions when a folder of photos or graphics needs a consistent output.
For example, prepare a product-photo folder as WebP copies. Test a photograph containing small text and gradients before applying the same setting to all the other photos. If some images require PNG transparency and others require JPG, split them into separate runs.
Prepare and process the queue
- Keep the originals and select up to 100 compatible images.
- Check the limits: 30 MB per image and 500 MB combined.
- Select one output format for the whole batch and applicable quality.
- Start processing and watch the completed-file count.
- Review the failed-file list as well as the successful result count.
- Choose ZIP or individual files, download, and inspect representative outputs.
The converter processes files sequentially. An individual failure is recorded and other items continue; if every image fails, no successful download is produced. Retry problematic inputs separately with a smaller, known-good file before assuming a filename extension guarantees compatibility.
Check the downloaded collection
The download contains successful outputs, not a copy of every selected source. Compare result and failure counts against the original selection. If source files share a basename, inspect the names in the package so you know which converted copy belongs to which original.
Individual downloads may trigger browser limits. ZIP is often easier for handing over a collection, but still check the archive opens and its images work in the destination application.
What a batch does not preserve
JPG loses transparency; animated inputs can become still frames; recoding can remove metadata. PNG does not use the lossy quality control, and converting JPG to PNG does not restore original detail. Very large decoded images may exhaust memory even below the file-size limits.
Continue with the right task
This page does not add resizing or cropping controls. For shared width and format settings, use the image conversion workflow. For a size-only change, use Image Resizer. Compatible processing stays in the browser; download the outputs before closing the page.
