About Image Converter
Choose this page when the main question is which image format to deliver. Convert a supported photo, screenshot or graphic to JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF or BMP without changing the source file.
Choose by transparency and destination
For a photo upload that requires JPG, use JPG and inspect fine detail after lossy encoding. For a logo that needs a transparent background, consider PNG or WebP instead: JPG has no alpha channel and this converter fills transparent regions with white. AVIF and WebP may suit web delivery when the destination supports them; test actual output size rather than assuming a newer format is always smaller.
GIF output here is a still image, not an animation maker. Animated GIF input is also processed as a single frame. BMP may be needed by legacy software, but often produces a much larger file.
Convert a representative sample first
- Add one supported image and select the destination format.
- Adjust quality where the selected encoder uses it; PNG does not use a lossy quality setting.
- Start conversion and download the result.
- Check its type, pixel dimensions, transparency, orientation and visual detail.
- Open it in the receiving app before converting the rest of a collection.
For example, a transparent product logo converted to JPG needs its new white background checked against the destination page. A photo converted from JPG to PNG will not regain detail lost in the original JPG.
Format conversion is not resizing or cropping
On this page the converter keeps the decoded dimensions; it does not expose width, height or crop controls. Use Image Resizer for dimensions, Image Cropper for composition, or the convert, resize and compress workflow when those steps should run together.
One image or a folder?
This converter also accepts multiple images. Batch Image Converter uses the same underlying component and limits; its instructions focus on consistent settings, failed items and checking a downloaded collection. There is no separate batch-only quality engine.
Both entries accept up to 100 images, with a 30 MB per-file and 500 MB combined limit. Processing is sequential; failed files are listed while other items can continue. Only successful outputs are included in the download. A successful result does not guarantee that camera metadata, color profiles or animation have been retained.
Keep the original
Processing compatible inputs stays on the device, although loading the application requires a connection. Save the result before leaving and keep the original until the destination has accepted the converted copy.
